2024 Green Party Presidential Primary

The 2024 Green Party Presidential Primary is underway! As a democratic political party, the Green Party US will, unlike the major parties, will host an open, competitive primary.

What that primary process looks like, just as with the major parties, but even more varied, depends on where you live. Some states have ballot access and their primary will be via the state-run elections, just as the major parties. Some states will hold conventions of their membership. Some states, like Illinois, are not given access to their state-run primary process and will hold their own presidential selection votes, per their rules.

In Illinois, our Presidential Selection Vote will be in March of 2024, specific details TBA. The vote will coincide with our 2024 Spring Convention and Green Presidential Candidate Forum. ILGP members will be able to cast their vote in our online, as well as run to be delegate to the 2024 Green Party US Presidential Nominating Convention.
