David has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Oakland University in Michigan and an MA and PhD in political science from the University of Michigan. During and after a brief college teaching career, he earned a law degree from DePaul University. David spent 37 years practicing law in Northern Illinois representing autoworkers in their every day legal needs.

After retirement, David started a volunteer pro bono practice assisting individuals in the expungement and sealing of their criminal records so they could seek meaningful employment. He has also twice volunteered in Tijuana Mexico assisting asylum seekers in their efforts to obtain a safe haven to resume their lives. David’s volunteer work has received recognition by way of a Service Above Self and Inspiring 815 awards.

David was a conscientious objector during the Vietnam War and has consistently worked for peace since then. In 2006 he received the Peace Activist of the Year award from the Rockford Peace and Justice Action Committee.

David is a long time Green Party activist serving as Party Secretary and as the candidate for Illinois Attorney General in 1996 and 2000. He again will be representing the Green Party in providing a progressive alternative to the two party monopoly.
