Petitioning is underway for the Green Party’s Toneal Jackson in the 2024 Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD)!
Covering most of Cook County and a few townships outside of Cook County, the MWRD is a sanitary district responsible for protecting Lake Michigan, the areas drinking water, and other waterways in the district. Greens have consistently ran in this race and have come close to victory in the past. This will be Toneal’s second run for MWRD, after receiving almost 18% of the vote, and 111,807 votes in 2022, as one of two Green candidates.
In order to get on the ballot, Toneal needs to collect 1299 valid signatures by December 4, 2023, but the campaign has a goal of collecting 2000 signatures before the Thanksgiving holiday, so they are ready to turn in their petitions in by the November 27 through December 4 window. Because Toneal is the only Green candidate running, her name will automatically be placed on the General Election ballot.
Can you help Toneal get on the ballot by signing and/or circulating the petition?
