During our May Illinois Green Party (ILGP) Coordinating Committee Meeting the members voted to support the following bills.
US HR763: Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act
Illinois HB2040: Private Detention Facility Moratorium Act
HR763, which has just been reintroduced in Congress, includes the Carbon Fee and Dividend Plan which the ILGP endorsed a few years ago. This bill is also endorsed by the Citizens Climate Lobby and the ILGP Coordinating Committee feels that this bill is a small part of what is needed to address the climate crisis, though we are concerned with exemptions for agriculture and military emissions.
