Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 – The final day to file objections to candidate ballot access petitions has passed, and the Illinois Green Party slate for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Board of Commissioners went unchallenged. Your Illinois Greens will be on the ballot in the March 20, 2018 primary election!

The slate of candidates representing the Illinois Green Party will be:

  • Chris Anthony, 6-year full term
  • Karen Roothaan, 6-year full term
  • Tammie Vinson, 6-year full term
  • Rachel Wales, 2-year unfinished term

The hard work of many volunteers helped us submit roughly double the required number of signatures. It’s unfortunate that Illinois law still enables the anti-democratic petition challenge process, in which candidates can be removed from the ballot by frivolous objections, but we’re thrilled to have fended off challengers in the 2018 cycle.

The MWRD-ILGP campaign will continue to focus on serious issues facing Chicago voters: climate change, transparency and accountability, and flood-preventing infrastructure that benefits us all, not just private corporations and Democrat Party donors.

Help us reach Chicago voters by signing up to volunteer as we enter the official campaign season!
