To sign John’s e-petition, all you have to do are these three easy steps (which should only take a minute or two):
1) (optional) If you are not sure, you can verify that you are registered to vote and/or whether you reside in the district. If you’re a registered voter you will be provided a list of all your voting districts. Make sure your State Representative District is 96.
2) (optional) Review the Rules for Signing Ballot Petitions.
Note that each registered voter in your family can separately click on the above link to e-sign the petition.
John Keating is running for Illinois State Representative (96th District) as a Green!
John is a father, an activist, and a community organizer that was born and raised in Springfield. With a union organizer as a father, John has always had a strong passion for labor issues and a society that is equitable for all its citizens. He believes that Black and Brown Lives Matter, and until we can honestly say America offers equal opportunity to all of its residents, dismantling the systemic racism that has plagued our country is among the most important issues we face today.
Too long have we lived in a country that works for the few rather than the many, so John will be running a campaign free of corporate funding. He feels that the residents of his district deserve to be represented by someone who refuses to be beholden to the agenda of the upper class, they deserve a Representative that listens to their needs and concerns, and works for the best interests of their constituents at every turn.
John has often been seen organizing and leading rallies across central Illinois, but he says that we have to do more than take to the streets and scream for change, we need to elect people who are going to fight for those changes in the Capitol.
John needs registered voters in the Illinois 96th State Representative District to sign his electronic petition. Due to a recent court order this e-petition can be used instead of a traditional paper ballot petition, because of the restrictions against in-person petitioning under the Governor’s Covid-19 Executive Order.
We can always use help spreading the word or volunteering on the campaign trail! If you’d like to volunteer for or donate to the campaign, please contact John.
Thank you for your continued support!
