Prairie Green Party Public Meeting

Champaign County is turning Green!

Join us Saturday, March 11 for a public meeting of the Prairie Green Party of Champaign County and the surrounding area. We will be meeting at the Champaign Public Library starting at 3:00pm.

The Green Party is a true grassroots organization, and most decision-making power rests in the hands of the local chapters. Party meetings give members a direct say in what issues the party addresses, what candidates the party runs, and how party funds are spent in their district.

Prairie Green Party organizing focuses primarily on Champaign County and the Champaign-Urbana metro area, but we welcome neighbors from the surrounding area to come network and share resources with us. The Illinois Green Party has many chapter-building materials that can be used in counties and communities outside Champaign as well!

Agenda items for Sunday will include: introductions and icebreaker, affiliation with the state party (ILGP) and introduction of state party officers, discussion of local priorities and goals, and a brief rundown of state party resources and opportunities for involvement from the ILGP Volunteer Director.

This is a public event, open to anyone with an interest in the Green Party. You do not need to be a current or past member of the Illinois Green Party to attend (although we'll certainly encourage you to sign up while you're there!).
