2018 IL Green Party Fall Conference
The Green Party takes its commitment to grassroots leadership seriously. Our members are our highest authority, and our Membership Meetings set the course for the entire state party!
The 2018 Illinois Green Party Fall Conference will be held in Belleville, IL from Sat. Sept. 29 - Sun. Sept. 30.
Saturday September 29th
Belleville Public Library, 121 E Washington St., Belleville, IL
9 – 9:30: Registration
9:30 – 10:00: Introductions with brief reports from chapters and campaigns

The Green Party, Black Lives Matter, the anti-fracking movement and many Left/progressive organizations have been smeared, targeted for internet and social media censorship and generally castigated as a consequence of the “Russia interfered in our elections” frenzy. In this workshop, Rich and Paula will present some resource and ideas for pushing back, with time for added input and discussion.
11:00 – 12 noon: Workshop II: “Digital Organizing Tools” : Presentation and workshop, Chris Blankenhorn. The ILGP still communicates primarily by e-mail list-serves and conference calls to conduct internal business, but there are other means of communicating with ourselves and sharing ideas with others that may prove more beneficial. In this workshop, Chris will present a few and help orient us to them, (as well as some other tools that might be useful to our chapters and campaigns) with time for added input and discussion.
12 – 1:15: Lunch break. Lunch on your own; info on area restaurants will be provided.
1:15 – 2:15: Workshop III: “Toward a Sustainable Transportation Future”: Presentation and workshop, Randy Auxier and Rich Whitney. In this workshop, Rich will present some vital facts about the importance of embracing sustainable transportation in the fight against climate change and other environmental harms, with some broad policy prescriptions, while Randy will present his proposal for a major public transit upgrade for Southern Illinois, including a new video illustrating its potential and feasibility.
