Events - March to Springfield Kickoff Event

March to Springfield Kickoff Event

Beginning Monday, May 15th, activists supporting the People and Planet First (PPF) Budget will be marching from Chicago to Springfield -- a massive direct action spanning over 200 miles and dozens of community stops along the way!

The PPF Budget provides a model for what a Green Party budget would look like, as opposed to the failed "grand bargains" of the two-party system that continue to put corporate interests first, and individual citizens last. The ILGP supports the budget and the March to Springfield.

If you're able, please join us in showing support at the March to Springfield Kickoff Event on Monday, May 15th! Marchers and supporters will gather in front of the James R. Thompson Center in downtown Chicago, at the intersection of Clark and Randolph, starting at 11:30am

All attendees are invited to march the first mile on Chicago streets, and we would love to have your help carrying Green Party banners, signs, and flyers. If you know you will be able to attend and march, please email to confirm your participation.

All are welcome, whether you plan to march or not! The ILGP will be participating in further events along the march, including a state party meet-up on May 30th in Springfield, so stay tuned for more March to Springfield Planning. As always, feel free to email with any questions.
