JIll Stein announces run for President

On June 22, Jill Stein announced her campaign as a Green Party candidate for the 2016 presidential race.  www.jill2015.com

In a Democracy Now! exclusive, Dr. Stein outlined her platform and stated, "I have a people-powered campaign. I am running with the only national party that does not take corporate funding."

Dr. Stein is a physician and activist who was the Green Party's Presidential nominee in 2012.

The Green Party will officially choose its Presidential nominee at its national convention in 2016.

    We have a real 3rd party choice this election cycle as we did in the last. Stein’s candidacy gives us a woman not only prepared to run, but prepared to bring a real change to our national politics. When I look at Dr. Stein I see a person who, if we get behind her and then hold her to her commitments, we will finally see “real hope, real change,” not just the empty promises. As much as I like Sanders he’s chosen to run as a democrat. That will not bring change. He will be co-opted before his inauguration. Let’s get behind Stein.
