Biography
Growing up in Cicero, Illinois, Anna learned firsthand of the struggles that communities of working class families faced. These experiences at a young age sparked her passion to help the people, communities, and small businesses that are the heart of our country.
Anna’s family moved to Woodridge, Illinois in the early 1990’s. Woodridge quickly became home to her, and a place she hoped she could raise her own family. In 2008, she met her husband Jeff, and they married in 2010. They purchased a house in Woodridge and began a family with their two boys, Anthony and Benjamin. The boys currently attend public school at William F. Murphy Elementary School.
During Anna’s undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University, she was President of the student group Northern Coalition for Peace & Justice. She organized a walk-out in response to the Iraq War. During this time, Anna worked with student groups of both major political parties.
Anna also excelled in her professional career. She started working in accounting in college and continued to do so after college with experience in both the public and private sectors. Anna also worked in the Chicago trading industry as a documentation specialist for almost 7 years. In 2014, Anna began to help small businesses with their tax needs which bloomed into her own small business.
After completing a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Phoenix online, Anna began law school in 2013 at UIC – John Marshall Law School. She was in the part-time program until she earned her J.D. in May 2019.
With the much needed changes on the horizon, Anna seeks to level the political playing field by increasing public participation, closing corporate loopholes, and putting an end to candidates and elected officials receiving corporate contributions.
