We prefer that you hand-off in person your notarized Jill Stein/ILGP State Slate petitions to a regional petitioning team leader, but if you need to mail in your notarized petitions, please mail them no later than Monday June 20th to
Illinois Green Party
213 S. Wheaton Ave.
Wheaton, IL 60187
Note that if you hand off to a regional team leader you will probably be able to do so as late as Saturday, June 25th, but contact your team leader for the absolute last opportunity to hand-off.
If you go to the Chicago June 26th Help Jill Stein Get Illinois Ballot Access: Pop-Up Office on the last day to petition, you will be able to get your petitions notarized and turned in.
See the Petitioning Page for a list of team leaders.
Please DO NOT NUMBER YOUR PETITION SHEETS! They get numbered by the coordinators later.
Also, when notarizing, the name of the person who circulated the petition should be entered in the blank after "Signed and sworn to (or affirmed by)", not the name of the notary.
Thanks for all your hard work! It's In Our Hands!
In 2012, Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein received more votes for President than any other female Presidential candidate in U.S. history.
And she did that with just a tiny fraction of the attention that mainstream media gives to candidates from the corporate parties.
Anonymous has released a message urging everyone to spread the word about Jill Stein's Green Party Presidential Campaign, in the interest of an informed public. Check it out here.
Jill Stein, the Green Party's 2012 Presidential Nominee and the winner of the 2016 ILGP Presidential Preference Voting, last week brought to Illinois her message of People, Planet, and Peace Over Profits.
Dr. Stein spoke on the campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign (article), presented as a part of the ECCE Speaker Series at the University of Illinois in Springfield, interviewed with the Springfield NPR affiliate (interview audio), interviewed in Springfield with All That's Left (photo and interview audio), met with supporters at the Abraham Lincoln Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Springfield (photo), spoke with supporters on the north side of Chicago (video), and spoke at the ILGP's State Convention and Dinner in Chicago. At the dinner, Rich Whitney surprised us with yet another demonstration of his many talents--a very humorous break from a full day of otherwise serious work (video).
Dr. Jill Stein has won the 2016 Illinois Green Party Presidential Preference Voting in convincing fashion, receiving almost 87% of the votes cast! Congratulations Dr. Stein!
This voting serves as the ILGP's internal primary election for its presidential nominee and determines the makeup of the ILGP delegation to the 2016 Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention, to be held in Houston on August 6. Based on these results, the Illinois delegation will be as follows: Dr. Stein--20 delegates, Bill Kreml--1 delegate, and Uncommitted--2 delegates. The ILGP thanks all those who voted, and the ILGP also thanks all of the Green Party Presidential Candidates for their efforts and wishes them the best for the remainder of the campaign.
ILGP 2016 Presidential Preference Voting is now closed. The results will be announced very soon.
Voting is now open for ILGP members in the ILGP's Presidential Preference Voting. Follow this link or get to the ballot through the website's top menu--Resources/For Members/Instructions, Membership Form, and Ballot. ILGP members residing in Illinois are eligible to vote, and a new member can join and vote at the same time.
Earlier this month, the Green Party of the United States announced that five Candidates qualified to be recognized as Green Party Presidential Candidates. And now those five Presidential Candidates have earned their way onto the Illinois Green Party's Presidential Preference ballot!
