2019 ILGP Spring Convention
Please Join Us in Chicago on April 13th!
The Illinois Green Party will be holding its annual Spring Convention Saturday, April 13, 2019, 9am – 6pm, at Citalin Gallery, 2005 S. Blue Island, in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Please plan on joining us if you can and participate in setting our strategy and electing our officers for the next year.
You can also join us for our Spring dinner banquet at the same venue, beginning at 6:30pm, and hear a keynote address by one of the leaders of the Green Party of New York, and recent candidate for governor, Howie Hawkins!
Our membership meetings are the highest decision-making body of the party. The Spring Convention will be primarily devoted to internal party strategizing and election of officers and representatives to the Green National Committee. However, the agenda will also include afternoon presentations on new campaign tools and an informative panel discussion on one of the most urgent issues of our time, The Climate Crisis and How to Address It.
Newcomers are more than welcome to attend the conference but please bear in mind that party decision-making is reserved for dues paying members of the Illinois Green Party. If you have not already paid your dues for 2019 (or monthly dues), please do not delay in getting current on dues by going here.
The Green Party is the only political party that recognizes the gravity of the climate crisis and will not compromise in the struggle to solve it. It is the only true peace party. It is an eco-socialist party aimed at overcoming all forms of oppression and putting human needs above the interests of private profit. But a political party, like any other organization, is only as strong and effective as its members make it, by what they do or fail to do. For us to succeed in our crucial missions, we need you to be a part of us, and help us grow and become more effective.
Please join us if you can on April 13th and help make that happen. Please RSVP below if you plan to attend.
