Join the Illinois Green Party – and Volunteer too!
Being a Green Party member means you can have a real voice in the development of the party and defining the party’s direction – unlike other political parties. Even if you don’t want to be very involved in the party, being a member is a strong way of showing support and making a statement that you believe in a different vision for politics in Illinois and beyond.
The 10 Key Values: The first 4; Ecological Wisdom, Social Justice, Grassroots Democracy, and Nonviolence — are known as the “Four Pillars” and are shared by Green parties all over the world. The Green Party of the United States (GPUS) and the various state Green parties in the U.S. have adopted an expanded list of ten Key Values adding; Decentralization, Community-Based Economics, Feminism, Respect for Diversity, Personal and Global Responsibility, Future Focus.
