Jill Stein to hold Chicago area fundraiser

Jill Stein, who recently announced her candidacy for the Green Party nomination for President, will be in the Chicago area this Saturday, November 5, meeting with local Green Party organizers and raising some of the $5000 she will need to raise in Illinois to help qualify for federal matching funds. Here is her itinerary for Saturday:

3 p.m. – Cook County Green Party membership meeting at Los Delfines, 5207 S. Archer, at the corner of Archer and Kenneth.

7 p.m. – Fundraiser at Leona’s Restaurant at 6616 W. 95th St. Oak Lawn, IL at 7pm. RSVP via Facebook.

On Sunday, Stein will travel to Downstate to participate in a highly publicized mock election at Western Illinois University and attend a fundraiser in Macomb.

A mother and a medical doctor, Stein was most recently the Green Party candidate for Governor in Massachusetts. She is campaigning for a Green New Deal and for Single Payer Health Care. She joins Kent Mesplay as the only announced Green Party candidates for president.
