Climate News - Climate Change Depleting Colorado River Levels
Climate News Network reports that research shows depleting water levels of the Colorado River are due to climate change.
The findings have been published in the journal Water Resources Research. The study looked at the characteristics of the current 15-year drought, as compared with similar long-term droughts over the past 100 years. The paper also warns that “future climate change impacts on the Colorado River flows will be much more serious than currently assumed, especially if substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions do not occur."
